Job Description:
The department of Plant Sciences (http://www.ag.ndsu.edu/plantsciences/) at North Dakota State University (NDSU) invites applications for a 9-month, non-tenure track, Assistant Professor of Practice Position. This position is a 100% teaching position. The Food Science program is an Institute of Food Technologists (IFT) approved program and will require the candidate to support efforts to develop and expand the undergraduate food science academic program. The primary responsibility of the position is to teach CFS 210 (Introduction to Food Science and Technology), CFS 370 (Food Processing I), and CFS 450/650 (Cereal Technology) each fall semester; and CFS 200 (Introduction to Food Systems), CFS 470/670 (Food Processing II) and CFS 471/671 (Food Processing Laboratory) each spring semester. Additionally, the incumbent will be expected to teach the course CFS 472/672 (Cereal and Food Fermentation) in spring of even-numbered years. In addition to teaching courses, the incumbent is expected to advise undergraduate students in the Food Science major, assist in the preparation of the Food Science Program’s assessment report for the university, and the annual report for the IFT approved program.

Minimum Requirements:
- Holds an earned Ph.D. in Food Science, Food Safety, or related field;
- Teaching experience in general food science, food processing, or food technology;
- Evidence of effective oral and written communication skills; and
- Evidence of being able to work effectively with a diversity of students and colleagues.
Preferred Requirements:
- Post-doctoral research or industry experience;
- Evidence of effective classroom lab instruction;
- Experience with advising or teaching diverse student populations, including underrepresented student populations and international students.
