Assistant Professor (Musical Theatre Specialist)
North Dakota State University seeks a musical theatre specialist to lead and help shape a growing and dynamic BFA musical theatre program within the Department of Theatre Arts. The position is a 9-month tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor.
The successful candidate will teach in their specialty area(s), direct and/or music direct at least one Musical Theatre production in the department’s season, advise and mentor students, take part in departmental service activities, and teach classes in the Theatre curriculum.
Specialty areas for qualified applicants may include one or more of the following:
• Teaching applied voice in a variety of musical theatre styles
• Teaching courses in Musical Theatre performance and Musical Theatre history
• music theory, sight singing
• other directly related specialty
Special consideration will be given to applicants with expertise in multiple specialty areas.

• Terminal degree in Theatre or Music. “ABD” considered for full-time lecturer appointment during degree completion
• Significant successful experience in Musical Theatre production.
