Job Description:
Responsible for placing safety as #1 priority in day to day work routine for self and others. Support the operation, maintenance, and construction of company assets, facilities, and services. Primarily responsible for the administration of pre-negotiated or negotiations of contracts for the acquisition of routine and non-routine services or materials, including the administration of the contract bidding process through final contract completion and document closeout for MDU Resources and its subsidiaries. Maintains complete and accurate records for all contracted materials and services, including executed contracts, Purchase Orders, modifications/change orders, insurance, correspondence to and from, and entries into current business system(s). Secondarily, support the Procurement processes as necessary.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Must possess a working knowledge of contract maintenance normally acquired through the completion of a four-year degree in business, accounting, engineering or finance
• Four years’ experience in an inventory procurement and/or supply chain function, two of which must include contract administration in the utility or construction industry

• Demonstrated analytical, project management, and negotiation skills to organize multiple and complex projects
• Working knowledge of contract law and contract administration
• Extensive knowledge of contracting techniques and methods
• Ability to work with detail and with high degree of accuracy
• General knowledge of government regulations affecting natural gas transmission, and electric and gas utilities
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to maintain effective working relationships, both internal and external; cross train with other departmental personnel
• Working knowledge of procurement and corporate software, ERP Systems, & Microsoft Office Suite applications
• Must maintain highly confidential and sensitive information
• Perform processes in accordance with all company policies and procedures, applicable laws, regulations, and guidelines of the Uniform Commercial Code and Institute for Supply Management
• Knowledge of the overall Sourcing to Payment processes
• Responsible for full Procurement authority to award after initial approval in accordance with the Approval Authorization Policy

Additional Requirements
• May be required to maintain a valid driver’s license
• May require occasional travel to company facilities
