Educates the regulated public and enforce health and sanitation regulations. Conducts plan reviews and inspections for the following facility types: food service, body art, public & semi-public swimming pools, lodging and tanning.Investigates health related nuisance complaints. Provide consultation for air quality issues and pest infestation. Assists with training Environmental Health staff. Assists with mosquito control functions.Prepares a variety of reports, documents and correspondence.Provide public education related to environmental health programs and standards.Pursue and participate in professional development to maintain REHS credential. Attend required meetings and conferences.Performs related duties.
Baccalaureate degree in an accredited environmental health curriculum or a baccalaureate in the physical, chemical or biological sciences, including at least thirty semester or forty-five quarter credits in the physical, chemical or biological science, or a degree beyond baccalaureate in environmental health or in a physical, chemical, or biological science. Must have credit for a college level math or statistics course.Possession of a valid drivers license
Possession of or ability to obtain a North Dakota Environmental Health Practitioner's license, within 60 days of date of hire.Possession of or ability to obtain Registered Environmental Health Specialist (REHS/RS) credential with the National Environmental Health Association within 5 years of date of hire.
