Job Description:
TITLE: Accounts Payable Technician (position is available from hire until June 30, 2020)

SUMMARY OF POSITION: This position is responsible for the accounts payable process. Accounts payable consists of reviewing invoices for accuracy, correct coding of funding sources and appropriate signatures.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: This position reports to the Controller

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Associate degree in accounting or a related field
Experience with business office functions
Proficient with a calculator, copier and fax machine
Strong competencies in MS Office Suite, especially Excel and Word
Be customer service and detail oriented
Strong organizational skills


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in related field


COMPENSATION: Includes a salary of $28,000 - $33,000 commensurate with qualifications and experience. And a comprehensive fringe benefit package, including employer-paid full-family coverage health insurance, NDPERS retirement, tuition waiver benefits and much more.

STARTING DATE: As soon as possible

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

Administer Pcards; hand out credit card applications to employees who are requesting a Pcard.
Access JPMorgan's website and create an account for new applications, set & monitor limits, & cancel cards
Organize, review, audit and post all University purchasing card transactions
Process and record payments to vendors when purchasing card is accepted
Provide customer relations internally and externally
Prepare, verify, and audit "request for payments" for the university
Distribute payments via check or ACH after validating amount
Balance and reconcile statements for outstanding invoices
File payment and documents in appropriate files in accordance with record retention
Prepare, code funding, and process invoices for Business Affairs with appropriate signatures.
Act as backup for the One-Stop Assistants when necessary
Perform as the primary individual for end of the day closing processes
Help with students and employees as need in the business office
Be a team player with projects within Business Affairs and the University
Perform other duties or complete specific tasks as assigned
